Sojourn Privacy Policy

Sojourn Corporation respects your concerns about privacy and values the trust you have placed in us. This Privacy Policy describes the types of personal information we collect, how we may use that information, and with whom we may share it. Our Privacy Policy also describes the measures we take to protect the security of your information. In addition, we describe the choices you can make about how we use the information you provide to us. We tell you how you can reach us to review and update your contact information, remove or request that we delete your personal information that we currently retain or answer any questions you may have about our privacy practices. We know that your personal information is a valued asset and we want you to know that we will treat it that way.

This Privacy Policy applies to all personally identifiable information that is collected, used or disclosed by Sojourn Corporation. We also may collect aggregate information about you which does not identify you and which is not therefore personal information.

Collecting Personal Information

When you make a purchase from us, we will ask you for your name, home address and phone number. Although you are not required in every circumstance to give us this information to complete your purchase, should you choose not to provide it to us we will be impeded in assisting you if you have problems or concerns with your purchase in the future, particularly if you do not retain your sales invoice.

If you make a purchase using a credit card, we collect your name, billing address for the card, type of card, card number and card expiration date. We require this information in order to process your purchase. If you choose to make a payment over the phone, we will require the security code off the back of your credit card. This is to confirm your identity on the phone.

In addition to your name, address and phone number, if you are applying for credit, we, on our own behalf and as agent for CitiFinancial Canada, Inc., collect additional personal information as provided for on the application form insofar as it relates to your credit history and creditworthiness.

If we are delivering your purchase to you, we require your name, address for delivery and phone number. If you will be picking up your purchase at a later time, we require your name and other identifying personal information (sales receipt) in order to verify your identity as the purchaser at the time of pick-up.

To be on our mailing list, we collect your name, mailing address and email address. In some instances, we may ask for some demographic information for market research purposes.

Your knowledge and consent are required for the collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information, except as permitted or required by any applicable law or statute in the province of Alberta. Your personal information is used only for the above identified purposes.

Protecting Your Information

Transmission, Storage and Retention

The security of your personal information is very important to us. We have policies and procedures in place to ensure that your personal information, both in electronic and paper format, is kept safe and secure, and we impress upon our employees the importance of maintaining the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality.

Destruction

Personal information you provide to us may be purged from our systems and records after seven (7) years, being a reasonable period of time following expiration of any warranties and other obligations we might have to you and/or to public bodies.

Your information is collected with your consent. You may contact us at any time if you wish to access, verify or correct your personal information in our possession, or if you wish to amend or withdraw your consent to our collection, use and disclosure of your personal information pursuant to this Privacy Policy or otherwise.
